Microgaming Launches New ‘Fun View’ Poker Software
Today saw the announcement of a brand new way for players to enjoy poker on desktops and mobile devices with wide screens, and it’s coming from a place you really might not expect. Rather than being launched by any of the big online poker rooms, the new ‘Fun View’ software is a Microgaming creation, and is being hosted around the web on the Betsson Group. The two names might not exactly be giants in the poker world, but they each have a strong pedigree in online and mobile gaming, and hopes for Fun View are high.
As the name suggests, it seems that the new software will be targeting casual and occasional players, rather than serious gamers; as such there is a heavier emphasis on the quality of the gaming environment, rather than appealing to money hungry pros. So, if you’re the kind of player who uses poker to unwind rather than top up your bank balance, Fun View might be for you.
The most immediately eye catching thing about Fun View is the sheer quality of its graphics. The high resolution 3D style graphics create the perfect setting for clearer chips, cards and fonts. Moreover, players have the option to display an avatar as they play, and have the choice of over 100 characters, many of whom can be found in Microgaming slots and other games, including Thunderstruck II, Immortal Romance, and Fish Party.
What’s on the table and who’s around it will be matched in quality by what you see behind it. You can choose your backdrop from a vast selection of scenes, from the cool sophistication of a Vegas penthouse, to the relaxing serenity of a Zen garden. Everything about the Fun View is geared towards an enjoyable and immersive experience.
The publication of Fun View is taking place as a collaboration between Microgaming’s MPN (formerly the Microgaming Poker Network, but now a more confusing acronym) and Betsson Group. The partnership means that Fun View is already live at a number of sites on the MPN which are managed by Betsson, including TrioBet, Betsson, NordicBet, Bets10, Betsafe, and Dhoze. These poker rooms are part of a public beta testing, meaning that if you head to one of them and play Fun View now, you can have your say in improving later versions of the software.
