The Road to Vegas
There are multiple ways that you can get your paws on the package trip to Vegas to represent your country at the WSOP 2016. First of all, you must be a 888poker player from the following countries: UK, Sweden, Poland, Australia, Canada, Brazil or Germany. Why seven when the rest of the promotion is all about number eight? No clue, really.
The promotion is running through to May 20th and one player from each of the aforementioned countries will get to compete in the Crazy Eights event. That’ll be taking place on July 1, so you better clear your schedule if you expect to win!
You’ll be extremely happy to know that you don’t have to be a high roller to get a chance to visit Vegas this summer. Buy-ins start at just $0.10, there is no reason as to why you shouldn’t reach the Top 27 of the leaderboard to enter the Grand Final Championship.
Taking place on May 23, this event will determine which seven players will ultimately end up in Vegas. And if you aren’t lucky to score your ticket at the WSOP 2016 through this promotion, then you can also try out the Step Satellites with buy-ins at just 1 penny – you could get to the Main Event with a $10,000 buy-in. Bargain!
The Crazy Eights Event
Trust us when we say that the WSOP’s Crazy Eights tourney is very first-time player friendly, so there will nothing to worry about if you do make it to Vegas. We expect shaky knees and a slightly upset stomach, but that’s nothing that some quality poker sunglasses can’t take care of!
So, what’s Crazy Eights, you might ask? Well, since 888poker is sponsoring the WSOP 2016, the buy-in to this event is… $888 and the prize pool is… $888,888 guaranteed. Not highly original, but hugely rewarding, isn’t it? Plus, the table structure is 8-handed, so that’s another eight added to the mix.
The 8-handed structure can be described as a quicker tourney than the classic 10-handed game and with 8-hand poker, the hands are worth more as there are less players per hand. It’s a brilliant format for live poker, really.
Talking about the scheduling of the event itself, four flights of Day 1 will take place July 1-2 at 10:00AM and 4:00PM. And if you fall out, don’t worry as you can re-enter once for each flight and if you get through Day 1 with 5,000 chips, then you’ll get handsomely rewarded when the event continues on Day 2.
