Powerfest at PartyPoker Starting This Week – $5M GTD

Powerfest is coming to PartyPoker starting this weekend and with $5 million prize pool guaranteed, it’s bound to be a biggie. Four four weeks, players at varying levels of poker skills and budgets will be able to part-take in 98 events. This event is replacing the Pokerfest that PartyPoker used to host before and we take a closer look at what the Powerfest has got in store, other than a great name for a poker tourney! 

From Featherweights to High Rollers

Every type of player will be catered to in the Powerfest at PartyPoker, that will start this Sunday, the 21st of February. As we already mentioned, this tournament will replace Pokerfest and will be bigger and more rewarding than any Pokerfest in the past. More specifically, $5 million in guarantees is available across all 98 events.

You will get a chance to walk away with a chunk of the prize pool over four weeks in a set up that will increase the stakes with every passing week:

  • Featherweight Week 1 – February 21st – February 28th
  • Middleweight Week 2 – February 28th – March 6th
  • Heavyweight Week 3 – March 6th – March 13th
  • High Roller Week 4 – March 13th – March 20th

For Featherweight week, they will range from $5.50 to $11 and the main event will be held on the 28th of February (buy in $5.50), worth $50,000 in guarantees. Middleweight week will up the ante and the buy-ins will range from £22 to $55, while the main event will spread the cheer with $100,000 in guarantees on March 6th (buy-in $55).

Third, Heavyweight week is where things will start getting serious with buy-ins from $109 to $215 and a main event of epic, $500,000 guaranteed proportions (buy in $215, held on March 13th). Yup, that’s right – $215 buy-in for a $500,000 main event; We though we’d just reiterate that! Lastly, High Rollers will convene in week 4 to play from $530 to an unbelievable $5,200 and their main event with half a million in guarantees will take place on the 20th of March (buy in $1,050).

Another Way To Get In – Powerfest Missions

If you don’t feel like qualifying through the satellites or buying your way in, then why not get through completing the Powerfest Missions? Players are able to get free tickets to Powerfest Click & Go at Party Poker Logoweeks two, three and four if they play at least four tourneys in any given for. The tickets will then be awarded to participate in the Powerfest the following week, for example:

  • Play four Tourneys in week 1 – get a ticket to Powerfest week 2
  • Play four Tourneys in week 2 – get a ticket to Powerfest week 3
  • Play four Tourneys in wee 3 – get a ticket to Powerfest week 4

Easy as pie. Keep in mind that tickets which are awarded will only be valid on tourneys held in the according weeks and will expire if you fail to use them. That’s another way of saying they are non-transferable and non-refundable.

The Winners Will Take It All

And if winning a tournament event wasn’t enough, PartyPoker will award each and every single one of the 98 winning players with an exclusive tourney. That’s pretty unusual andPop Champagne Cork cool! Taking place on March 27th, the winners will automatically qualify to participate and win one of the very exciting prizes.

Of course, prizes can range from a Power Series Ticket worth $5.50 all the way to the grand prize. And the main prize is a $5,000 package trip to Vegas, where you and your plus one will be put up at a hotel for five nights, get $1,000 to spend, have dinner with PartyPoker Ambassador Mike Sexton (and get a copy of his book Life’s a Gamble signed), boxing gloves signed by another PartyPoker Ambassador Carl Froch, a high sought after Tournament of Champions winner belt and entry to WPT500 at The Aria hotel. Gasp.
